Easy homemade Gyro (Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Keto)

Ingredients
  • Ingredients:
  • 22 oz ground lamb
  • 1 lb ground beef (we used 90% lean)
  • 1 shallot
  • ½ large white onion
  • 10 cloves garlic
  • Spice Mix:
  • 1 tbsp + 1 tsp oregano or Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 2½ tsp smoked papriak
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 1¼ tsp ground coriander
  • 1¼ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. In a food processor, blitz onion, garlic and shallots until finely chopped.
  3. Add meat and spices, blitz until just combined.
  4. Tightly pack the meat into an oiled cake pan or oven tray. If you are using an oven tray you want to shape it into a rectangular shape about 1.5 inches thick.
  5. Bake until cooked (approx 20 mins). Cover with foil and let it rest for 30.mins before thinly slicing.
  6. Extra step (highly recommend): Heat up a pan, add some of the leftover juice and fry thinly sliced gyros until brown.
