- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼-1/2 tsp ground cardamom (1/2 tsp if you feel adventurous enough, it adds a unique note that complements the apples)

- Topping
- ½ cup almond flour
- ⅓ cup oat flour (gluten-free, if needed0
- ⅓ cup rolled oats (gluten-free, if needed)

- 5 tbsp melted coconut oil
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
- Preheat oven to 400F.
- Peel and cut the apples into 1-inch pieces
- In a pan, add in the apples and the filling seasoning. Cook for 15 mins until they are soft, keep stirring to avoid burning.
- In a separate bowl, mix all the topping ingredients together.
- Put apples in to a baking tray/ cast-iron skillet. Sprinkle the topping over the apples and bake for 18-20 mins.
- Remove and serve immediately with ice cream.
