OSU Coconut (Vegan, Gluten Free, Paleo)
Camden Market is one of London’s famous markets. There you will find souvenirs, artwork, bookstores and most importantly food stalls from all over the world. We did our research before heading there to make sure we were making the best of our time! We had heard about this OSU coconut store which sells the best GLUTEN FREE, VEGAN Coconut Pancakes. Thankfully, we found this tiny street stall at the bottom floor of Camden Market. Each serving comes with a stack of 4 fluffy pancakes. I leaned over in excitement watching the one-man-chef prepare his “famous pancakes”. Taking inspiration from his roots, his pancake batter is made purely out of coconut: coconut flour, coconut sugar, coconut oil, coconut meat and served with a salted coconut caramel syrup. There are only 4 choices on the menu all with the panckes and syrup but with different toppings: classic, to chocolate berries to apple walnut. We got the classic and honestly these were the best pancakes I ever had. You would never know they were allergy free! The Australian couple in front of us were also travelling foodies – it seemed as though we all knew what we were looking for!
Deliciously Ella (Gluten Free, Vegan, Vegetarian)
Overnight star, ella, was a ordinary girl who suffered from Postural Tachycardia Syndrome. It was then she began her journey of creating vegan, gluten free food . She opened up a deli after numerous TV shows appearances and her blog that became an inspiration for many other people. I love how easy her recipes are. Despite not being a trained chef, her food was surprisingly delicious.
My sister was unwilling to come initially but she was glad she did! I personally really enjoyed her roasted cauliflower and maple sweet potatoes. Her baked falafels also caught us off by surprise because they were healthy and flavorful!!
I would say she definitely packs a lot of spices and flavor into her food! Her portions are pretty big too. Sadly, we didn’t have enough room to try her delicious desserts too! Her menu selection is extremely simple but everything was so fresh and clean. It may not be for everyone, but if enjoy a good vegetarian, Mediterranean fusion deli meal!
Best of all EVERYTHING is GLUTEN FREE, DAIRY FREE, VEGAN!We also ordered her:
- Quinoa with Mint, Pea, radish; Roasted Maple Sweet Potatoes; Cauliflower & Tahini
- Hummus; Baked Falafels; Israeli Salad
But we also highly recommend her Bliss Balls and her desserts!

Ottolenghi (Vegetarian, Gluten Free)
Perhaps most renowned for his cookbook, Jerusalem, Ottolenghi is known for his vegetarian recipes. I knew had to come! We originally booked a table at NOPI (another chain Oxford Circus) but decided that we wanted to try their salad selections at their deli. Definitely check before going which chain you are going to because the options differ!
We went with another of our vegetarian friends and enjoyed a wonderful meal! You can ask for a gluten free or dairy free menu – All of which still taste incredible: Roasted Sweet potatoes, Cauliflower, Aubergine, Tomatoes! His desserts are also pretty amazing except there aren’t much allergy friendly options. Sadly I wasn’t able to try any but I was told their Cream Cheese Maple Frosting on their Carrot Cake is out of this world.(Spitalfield Deli) – make reservations before going!

Snowflake (Vegan, Gluten Free)
Zoe and I stumbled on this ice-cream chain on our way to purchase Les Miserables Tickets. Right behind Queen’s theatre, are some of the most fantastic restaurants in London. I had been to Chinatown many times previously and no idea what a gem we had missed out before.
Snowflake is an Italian gelato/sorbet chain that offers a selection of fat-free, dairy free, gluten-free sorbets. I was fascinated to see Chocolate Sorbet that was dairy free and asked for a sample. The gentlemen behind the counter explained that their Pakistani Owner had won awards for their Chocolate and Raspberry sorbet. He was absolutely right! It is probably the best chocolate ice cream or sorbet had ever tasted.
When we went back the second time with Raena, I had to ask how they made it and I was told that it was simply a mixture of Pure Dark Chocolate, Soy Milk and Sugar. You can definitely tell they use a good quality dark chocolate.

Sticks and Sushi
For our last night in London, we wanted something special. Some of our friends from home had recommended Sticks & Sushi which is a Japanese Restaurant with Danish influences. Along the beautiful rivers of Canary Wharf, you will find this hidden amongst other restaurants. The romantic ambience of bar tables, dim lighting is the perfect place for couples, dates and fancy dinners. I was told their salmon is amazing, sourced for Scotland! After asking several waiters about their recommendations, we ordered their:
- Scottish Salmon Sashimi (amazing!),
- Mini Maki Maki Set (GREAT DEAL, AMAZING FLAVOURS)
- Fried Cauliflower, Black Truffle Sauce (MOST POPULAR DISH)
- Seared Salmon, Tuna, Prawn Salad with Miso Mustard Dressing
- Seared Tuna with Ponzu, Black Truffle
- Scallop Ceviche (ginger, chili, tiger’s milk)Other famous options: Crispy Ebi Roll, Miso Cod
They also have set menus if you’re coming in as a pair or in small groups. If there is one thing they score high on it would their delicate and intricate presentation.
What I like about it especially is that there really is something for everyone. My youngest sister isn’t quite fond of sashimi and was delighted to find sushi options of crispy ebi (shrimp), avocado, Seared Salmon, Seared Tuna. Whilst, Zoe and I were able to enjoy some of their extravagant and exquisite sashimi selections. For those of you who are vegan don’t worry because they have great options. Definitely not your ordinary Japanese Restaurant.
